Ribbit Rogue Updates Hub
From a Playdate crank to a color Steam 1.0.
Ribbit Rogue’s public timeline is unusually long for a ten-dollar dice game. King Krab Games spent more than five years on it, shipped a Playdate version in April 2025, put a Steam page up in 2025, ran a demo through 2026 fests, and launched Steam 1.0 on 3 September 2026 (4 September in some regions). This hub is the patch desk. Deep dives live in launch notes and demo notes.
Why you should care about old patches
The demo was not a trailer. It was a live balance branch. Version 0.4 (Deeper Swamp) added the second area, about forty relics, boss relics, new dice, and Japanese text. 0.4.2 tightened hover tooltips, controller deadzones, and D-pad movement. If a guide on this wiki mentions Pocket Watch or Blacksmith Hammer, those names come from that branch. 1.0 is that branch plus the rest of the campaign, three characters, Swamp Depth, and 32 achievements.
Playdate 1.0.16 still matters for one sentence: the final boss and Ursa Twins could start in phase two on repeat fights until a patch. If a Steam hotfix ever rhymes with that, close the client. Until then, treat it as proof that the twins are a real 1.0 fight, documented in bosses.
What 1.0 sold on day one
- Windows Steam, $9.99, 20% off until 17 September 2026.
- Single-player, full controller support, Steam Cloud, family sharing.
- Eleven interface languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese-Brazil, and others. This wiki covers English, French, German, and Spanish.
- A free demo that remained available at launch.
- Bundles with other indies (Stray Path, Archon Soul, Montabi) that you can ignore unless you already wanted those games.
How we date pages
Each article on this site stamps the month and year at render time. When King Krab Games posts a numbered Steam patch, add it here as a child page instead of rewriting every guide. Combat rules — draw seven, roll four, crits double everything — are stable. Relic names will move. Check this hub before you trust a Depth climb on patch morning.
Where official words live
Steam news hub, the King Krab Games YouTube channel, Discord, and the store page. This wiki mirrors them in links. We do not invent patch numbers. If the news feed is quiet after launch week, that is normal for a solo developer; it does not mean the game is abandoned. Five years of devlogs suggest the opposite.
Read launch notes if you skipped the demo and jumped into 1.0. Read demo notes if your muscle memory is Next Fest and the full game feels larger than you remember. Then go back to getting started and play a frog instead of reading another timeline.
